The Investigations into the Disappearance of Madeleine McCann
An inconvenient truth!
An investigation that began on the right track but was later diverted from its originais focus by private interests is currently heading in the wrong direction, while the true perpetrators remain at large.
Our purpose is not to accuse, assign blame, or determine who is right or wrong. We merely present versions of letters considered authentic, sent before and after the events, as well as interpretations derived from parapsychological studies, which allegedly indicate what may have occurred in the Madeleine McCann case.
What Happened
The investigative team has been reduced and now operates with a limited staff. In fact, the investigations should have continued in Portugal rather than being conducted by British teams or in England, where, according to this perspective, the focus of the inquiry was completely altered.
Under this version of events, the real suspects reside in England but are not being considered by the British authorities. At present, the team responsible for the investigation consists of only three police officers and one part-time staff member.
The resources allocated to the search have decreased in recent years. The investigation received £108,000 (approximately BRL 690,000) in 2024 and £110,000 (approximately BRL 700,000) in 2023, bringing the total cost of the inquiry since 2011 to £13 million (approximately BRL 83 million).
A Reminder of the Case
Madeleine McCann disappeared on May 3, 2007, at the age of three, while on vacation with her family. The child was sleeping, allegedly under the influence of sleep medication, together with her siblings in an apartment in Praia da Luz, Algarve, Portugal.
According to a letter that was allegedly sent prior to the incident, the child’s parents went out to dinner with friends while the children remained in the apartment.
The parents were dining at a nearby restaurant at the time of the disappearance. According to this account, only they had access to the room. The case gained worldwide attention and remains unsolved to this day.
Letters were reportedly sent to authorities in both England and Portugal describing what had allegedly occurred. The parents themselves are also said to have received correspondence from the author of this article, containing questions regarding the case.
After dozens of hypotheses were considered, new elements emerged, and in 2020 authorities identified the German national Christian Brueckner as the principal suspect in the disappearance. Although he has a criminal record and is regarded as a person of extremely poor reputation, this account maintains that he was not responsible for the child’s disappearance.
Brueckner was living in the Algarve region at the time of the crime, and police have investigated a possible connection between him and the child’s death. However, according to this interpretation, there is no conclusive evidence supporting such allegations.
Brueckner was released from prison in September 2025 after serving a sentence for a separate crime. He had been convicted of raping a 72-year-old woman in the same region but was released without any formal charges relating to the Madeleine McCann case. According to this viewpoint, there may be attempts to incriminate him in order to bring the case-to a close, avoid a potential scandal, and silence public opinion once and for all.
The letters sent to the British and Portuguese authorities allegedly point to different suspects who, according to this account, would be more likely to be the true perpetrators.
The investigations have not uncovered any DNA evidence linking the German suspect to the disappearance. Furthermore, previous searches failed to locate any material evidence confirming his involvement in the case.
The German police, however, remain convinced that he is involved in the disappearance. Investigators continue to believe in his participation and have kept under seal a hard drive that reportedly contains images considered relevant to the case.
According to this line of interpretation, the individuals truly responsible for the crime against Madeleine McCann live in England. It is alleged that both the British and Portuguese authorities are aware of this situation, but that political pressures and constraints led to the suspension of investigations directed toward the alleged perpetrators, while inquiries that were underway in Portugal were allegedly suppressed.
It is further argued that a future scandal may reveal the reasons behind the alleged protection afforded to those supposedly involved in the crime, including allegations of administering an overdose and concealing a body.
Finally, it is maintained that the solution to the case lies in Praia da Luz, Algarve, Portugal, while the criminals are allegedly hiding in England.
